Description

SRA Member Exclusive Event

In this presentation, Kiyoshi Bhuiyan will explore how the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) is using AI to support analytical work across a range of projects. He will discuss where AI offers the greatest opportunities to improve productivity, the types of analytical tasks it is best suited to, and where its limitations remain.

The session will also address the risks associated with using AI in government analysis, including ethical, methodological, and practical considerations, and how these are being managed in practice.

Kiyoshi Bhuiyan is a Social Researcher at DESNZ, working in the Social and Behavioural Energy Research team. He is a member of the Government Social Research (GSR) working group on innovative methods, with a particular focus on the responsible and effective use of AI. His work centres on identifying where AI can meaningfully enhance analytical practice, while ensuring risks are clearly understood and mitigated.

This session will be hosted via Zoom. Registration will require an active SRA Membership.
